When we talk of “custody rights” we speak of the question of which parent will make the major decisions for the child, including education, religious activity and non-emergency medical care. Custody can take several forms including sole custody, joint custody, or forms of parallel parenting. I can discuss with you what custody arrangement is in the best interests of your child (ren.).
Access can also take various forms. I prefer to refer to “access” as the “parenting time schedule”. Access has to do with the actual time sharing arrangement for your child (ren). Access may include the weekly schedule, but also such arrangements for holidays and summers. We may also want to discuss specifics of the access, such as pick-up and drop-off times and locations, planning for trips with the children and what happens if one parent wants to move.
